1. 1. General provisions
25th Mediterranean Film Festival will be held in Široki Brijeg from October 8th to 12th 2024. All the professional and amateur film and video authors of documentary films from the Mediterranean countries can participate in the competition. These countries are, in the alphabetical order: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Monaco, Morocco, San Marino, Montenegro, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey. Every author participating can only have one film registered in the official competition. The films that have the right to participate in the competition are short documentaries up to 30 minutes and feature-length documentary films over 30 minutes produced after January 1st 2023.
The films that have the right to participate in the In Focus programme are short documentaries up to 30 minutes produced after January 1st 2022.
1. 2. Technical provisions
The films for the selector must be submitted exclusively by online application on the official website of the festival. The films must contain subtitles in English language. The films for the selection, with a completed registration form, must be sent by July 31st 2024, at the latest.
1. 3. Rights of the organizers
The organizer guarantees that the copies of the films will not be used for commercial purposes. For the screenings of the selected works, the festival will not offer any compensation or screening fees, neither to the authors nor the producers. The organizer reserves the right to use clips from the films for presentation and marketing of the festival on the Internet and television. The organizer reserves the right of screening the films at its own retrospectives.
1. 4. The jury and awards
The expert panel of judges consists of three members for short documentary films lasting up to 30 minutes and three members for feature-length documentary films over 30 minutes. The panel of judges will reward the best film from the selection of short documentary films. The award is “25 MFF Best Short”. Along with the sculpture of the festival - the MFF Projector awarded to the author, there is also the cash prize for the author in the amount of 500 EUROS (five hundred Euros). Along with the sculpture of the festival - the MFF Projector awarded to the author, there is also the cash prize for the author in the amount of 1000 EUROS (one thousand Euros). Within the festival there is also the Audience Award and the author awarded shall receive the MFF Projector and the amount of 500 Euros (five hundred Euros).The award for the best cinematography achievement will be awarded by the Association of Cinematographers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ASBH). The award is entitled "25 MFF Best Camera”. The judging panel for the best cinematography consists of three members.
