The film is inspired by the works of the prominent Montenegrin poet and bishop Petar II Petrović Njegoš, on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of his birth, offering a contemporary reading and interpretation of his literary work. The author Dimitrije Popović focuses not only on the mystical, religious and philosophical aspects of Njegoš’s work, but also on the phenomenon of eroticism which, as Popović points out, is necessary for a more complete understanding of Njegoš’s creration. The film represents a symbiosis of different art forms and talents, including the interpretation of parts of Njegoš’s poetry by the actor Slobo Marunović, and sophisticated editing by Željko Petreš, who additionally enriched the visual and narrative impression of the film with his skills.
