Domestic power at the end of the jubilee edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival
Screening of the film “The Wrath of God” directed by Kristijan Milić closed the 25th Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg.
 
“This is my favourite director, and I hope that you too will like this film, which I dare to say, is a Hollywood type production”, Josip Mlakić said before the screening, whose script the film was based on, adding that this is his third collaboration with the director Kristijan Milić.

The film in which Mlakić made his directorial debut, "About People and Forests" and the short documentary "Forgotten Stations" directed by Zdenko Jurilj were also screened on the last festival day. 

Documentary film “Prison Beauty Contest” directed by Srđan Šarenac from Bosnia and Herzegovina won the Grand Prix and Audience award of the 25th Mediterranean Film Festival, while the Best Short went to the film ‘A Poil’ directed by French director Audrey Clemens. The Best Camera Award went to the cinematographer Igor Marović for his work on the film “Bottlemen”, directed by Nemanja Vojinović from Serbia.

The jury composed of Kristina Ljevak, Jelena Ružić and Ivo Krešić in their explanation said that Srđan Šarenac once again confirms himself as a professional documentarian and a dedicated researcher whose films manage to have an important social dimension and a charm that conquers the widest audience.

The jury also awarded two special mentions to the documentaries “Bottlemen”, directed by Nemanja Vojinović  and to “At the Door of the House Who will Come Knocking” directed by Maja Novaković from BiH.

The jury for short documentary film composed of Sahin Šišić, Zdravko Terkeš and Tomislav Mršić awarded the Best Short award to the film „A Poil!“ because in its 17 minutes it presents a powerful and current topic – human body as a planet, and humans as the ones who destroy their planet.

The jury also awarded two special mentions to the film “Pain” directed by Ivan Faktor from Croatia and to “The One Who Doesn’t See” directed by Natxo Leuza from Spain. The jury for the Best Camera, composed of Eldar Emrić, Draško Gajić and Vedrana Mijić, awarded the Best Camera award to Igor Marović, the cinematographer of the film “Bottlemen”.

There are two special mentions awarded in this category also, one to Camille Jaulent for the film „A Poil!“ and to Fabian Faure for the film „The Black Garden“.

The festival screened 20 films in the competition, and the documentary film "Hassan’s Wars" directed by Robert Bubalo also attracted great interest among the audience. In addition to top-quality film contents, the 25th MFF also offered an interesting additional program created in cooperation with the Office for European Integration of the Government of West Herzegovina Canton.

Famous Croatian art photographer, sculptor and painter Stephan Lupino held a forum for young people on the topic "Art photography in the digital age". There was another interesting meeting organised with the painter and writer Dimitrije Popović, while Tony Mandich, the man who was the vice president of Atlantic Records for 30 years and who collaborated with the greatest pop-rock stars, had a presentation on the topic of "The influence of pop music on the film industry".

The festival also hosted the Regional Museum of Pljevlja from Montenegro, and the film "The Ways of Homo sapiens" directed by Ozren Zogović was screened. In addition to the above, the organisers also screened documentaries from the "In Focus" program and films for children in the "MFF Fora" program.
