About wars, people, forests... five documentaries in the ''Home Authors'' program
Five films in the ''Home Authors'' program are going to be screened at the 25th Mediterranean Film Festival.
''Hassan’s Wars'' directed by Robert Bubalo is on the program on Friday, 11 October. This is an emotional story that follows the life of Hassan Haidar Diab, a journalist who went through dramatic life changes during his career. Once a member of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Diab replaced weapons with a pen and became a spokesman for the truth in the media, and now he lives under police protection due to threats from radical Islamists, which he once belonged to.
A short documentary film ''Sport to Inclusion'' directed by Franjo Lovrić is also on the program on Friday. The film carries a message about the value of sport, which should be available to everyone and be an integral part of the lives of people of different ages, especially children and youth.
On the last day of the festival, the festival audience will have the opportunity to watch "Lost Stations" directed by Zdenko Jurilj. Through soothing scenes of abandoned stations and natural landscapes the film revives memories of lost moments and connections that have shaped people and cities over a century.
The film ''About People and Forests'' directed by Josip Mlakić, delves into the profound bond between humans and forests, focusing on deforestation as one of the pressing crises of our time.
A war drama ''The Wrath of God'' directed by Kristijan Milić, based on Josip Mlakić’s screenplay, is closing the 25th edition of MFF.
