“Hassan’s Wars” in the competition of the 23rd DokuFest
“Hassan’s Wars”, a documentary film about the journalist Hassan Haidar Diab, written and directed by Robert Bubalo, is going to be screened at the 23 edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival DokuFest, that is taking place from 2 to 10 August in Prizren.
“Hassan’s Wars” is a story about a journalist, native of Beirut, who achieved a notable career in Croatia. Already as a boy he was on the battlefield with a rifle in his hands. He lost his brother and friends, and he did not want to talk about the traumas to this day. He decided to make a film in order to say that wars do not solve problems.
In addition to Bubalo, who is also the editor of the Sunday edition of Večernji list, producer of the Mediterranean Film Festival and Hassan's friend, producer Mario Vukadin, director of photography Bojana Burnać, sound recordist and co-producer Tomislav Bubalo, sound recordist Marko Dimić, editor Matej Pavelić, and composer Ivica Vučko also collaborated on the film.
“Hassan’s Wars” is going to be screened in the Festival’s competition program Balkan Dox.
DokuFest is the biggest film festival in Kosovo, and in the recent years it has become prominent as one of the most significant festivals of documentary film in the region.
