'The Truffle Hunters' open the 22. MFF
The screening of the documentary 'The Truffle Hunters' directed by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw is opening the 22nd edition of the Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg on Wednesday, August 25 at 9 p.m.

The film, which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Festival, talks about a group of experienced experts from Italian Piedmont, searchers for the rare and precious white Alba truffles, coveted by the world’s wealthiest chefs and connoisseurs.This absurdist, meditative documentary offers an insight into the world of the elusive fungi and the rituals of the cunning searchers who are trying to protect them from the greed of the outside world, exposing the magic of nature in the process. 

“While the rich and fashionable culinary world crave for their prey, they live the life of humble eccentrics, in love with their hounds, who are cunningly trying to protect their world from the greed of the outside world “, the announcement of the documentary says, that is going to be screened in the Open Air Cinema at the Mediterranean Film Festival.


One of the most important film events in B&H and region is going to screen 20 documentaries in the competition program. Festival selector Zdravko Mustać has selected ten films in the short film category - up to 30 minutes, and ten films in the category of feature documentaries – more than 30 minutes. 

In cooperation with Film Centre Sarajevo, the legal successor of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography archives, the MFF will screen seven films on the first day of the festival. These are the masterpieces of B&H cinematography, which were the audience and jury favourites at festivals around the world at the time they were created.

This year's edition of MFF is going to screen 45 films in eight festival programs.We remind you that the 22nd Mediterranean Film Festival, whose general sponsor is HT Eronet, is taking place from 25 to 28 August in Široki Brijeg.
