The US premiere of the film 'The Eighth Commissioner’ was held last month before the full hall of the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. The promotion of the film and Croatia as a desirable tourist and interesting movie destination on the American market was held under the title 'A Night of Croatian Film & Flavours'. The director Ivan Salaj, director of photography Slobodan Trninić and actors Frano Mašković, Borko Peric and Nadia Cvitanović after the screening took part in the conversation with the audience where they discovered some details from the filming. In the audience, among others, there were Croatian filmmakers and athletes who live in America, but also more than 50 voters of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

 'A Night of Croatian Film & Flavours' was covered by a dozen of US media. ‘The Eighth Commissioner’ was filmed in co-production of Alka Film, HRT and Kadar production from Široki Brijeg (BiH). Co-producer Tomislav Bubalo attended the US premiere of the film on the behalf of Kadar Production.  The ‘Eighth Commissioner’ was first premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival in BiH, while the Herzegovinian audience had a chance to see it at the last year's Mediterranean Film Festival in Široki Brijeg. Note that ‘The Eighth Commissioner’ was Croatian candidate for the Oscar.
