The Festival program: Something for everyone
The 18th edition of Mediterranean Film Festival starts in Široki Brijeg on Wednesday, August 23, with the program MFF Rendezvous and will last till August 26.

These talks about film will take place each festival day, and the film program of the first festival day is reserved for screenings of the films created at MFF School workshops, which will be screened during the opening ceremony of the festival.
Screening of the film “Stolen Childhood”, directed by Pavao Crnjac, will open the program of Home Authors, which is followed by the documentary “Home”, directed by Zdenko Jurilj, awarded at Sarajevo Film Festival.

“The Road Movie” is opening the competition program after the official opening ceremony, and the evening is reserved for documentary “We Have Never Been Kids”, another film from the competition, while at the same time the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge” will be screened in the Open air cinema.

The second day of the festival is reserved for nine short feature films from BH authors, the feature documentary and short documentary competition program, and world premiere of the documentary film “23 Grams”, directed by Robert Bubalo. And in the end, HBO Adria will present the film “Communion” after the competition program.

This year too, MFF has thought about the youngest audience, so the third day of the festival will be opened by the MFF Fora program for the youngest, with German animated film “Richard the Stork”. The competition program is scheduled for the afternoon and documentary “The White Road” in the Home Authors program. “War for the Planet of the Apes” is a blockbuster for the end of the third festival night.  

The last day will start with the program for kids with the film about child hero Koko “The Mystery of the Green Hill”, and after the screenings of the films in the competition and parallel screenings of the film about the Beatles in the open air and indoors cinema we will find out which are the best documentaries of the 18th Mediterranean Film Festival.  

The selector of the festival Damir Čučić chose twelve feature and ten short documentaries, and this year’s jury for the feature documentary competition are Vlatka Vorkapić, Jorge Tur Moltó and Ademir Kenović, and the jury for the short documentary is composed of Josip Mlakić, Kyle Joseph Petty and Gordan Nuhanović.

The Festival that is taking place form August 23 to 26 was supported by the US Embassy in B&H and the office of the European Union Special Representative in B&H. Besides the film program MFF has taken care of the entertainment, so we also have quizzes, workshops, parties...
