'The Bridge' won the Grand Prix and the Audience Award at the Four River Film Festival
Ultimate winner and the winner of the Grand Prix at the festival for high school filmmaking in Karlovac, and the winner of the Audience Award at 'Four River Film Festival', is the film "The Bridge" created by the workshop participants of MFF School.
Jury member Joe Stephenson said, explaining the award, that making people laugh is one of the hardest things in film, and to make them laugh in a way without losing the sense of all other important things, is an incredibly rare skill.
"The winning film has a perfectly timed jokes, great chemistry among the actors, characters who behave naturally and convincingly regardless of how playfully they behave and professional level of production, and to achieve that in this age in one language is an accomplishment, but to do it in two languages is something quite special" said Stephenson at the festival, which took place in Karlovac from 6 to 10 September.
As a reminder, the film workshop at the 16th MFF, with new and old participants produced a short film "The Bridge". Workshop leaders were Lucy Eagleson and Tyler Gunderson from California. MFF has been collaborating with the organization Outside the Lens in the past few years, and more than two dozen young people from San Diego and Široki Brijeg took part at the 17th MFF.
