‘Chuck Norris vs Communism’ and ‘Meet the Patels’ are the documentary films that will be screened within the off program of the 17th Mediterranean Film Festival in the Open cinema at the Festival square in the centre of Široki Brijeg. ‘Chuck Norris vs Communism’ is the film that will be screened within HBO Aria program on Wednesday 24 August and Friday 26 August, which is enabled in cooperation with the great movie network HBO.



The film directed by Ilinca Calugareanu, which had its premiere in the competition of Sundance Film Festival, brings the story about the regime of Nicoale Ceausecu, during which Romanians suffered from little access to foreign goods, as well as an information blackout the Communist bureaucrats used to ensure ideological purity.



Meet the Patels, a funny documentary romantic comedy, which MFF screens within the program American Film Showcase, will be screened on the second evening of the festival, Thursday 25 August. This is a story directed by Geeta Patel and Ravi Patel about an Indian-American, who is almost thirty, who enters a love triangle between the woman of his dreams ... and his parents.
