At the inquiry of the Association of Amateur radio operators of Heceg Bosna, the Communications Regulatory Agency BH has issued a special call sign on the occasion of 17th Mediterranean Film Festival that will take place from 24 to 27 August in Široki Brijeg. In this way Herzegovinian amateur radio operators are joining in promotion of the most important festival in the region. A special QSL card 17th Mediterranean Film Festival with call sign E717MFF will be created for this occasion.

QSL card is a confirmation of the connection and is sent to each collocutor with whom the connection is held. Besides already mentioned, the card serves the purpose of promotion of the home town of the Festival, region, natural resources and people. It is expected that a few thousand connections with amateur radio operators worldwide will be made, and the same number of cards will be dispatched to all parts of the world.

Within their activities, amateur radio operators keep and set up connections with their colleagues from the entire world and they are working on the development of technical education and cooperate with organization, search and rescue services.  

The goal of this year’s event is to use communication potential that amateur radio operators are developing, and in this way to promote Mediterranean Film Festival additionally, to promote the development of technical education and to encourage young people to engage in amateur radio operators’ activities.
