“Sonja and the bull” is closing MFF
Film “Sonja and the Bull”, a romantic comedy directed by debutante director Vlatka Vorkapić and produced by Interfilm, shall be screened at the ceremonial closing of the 13th Mediterranean Film Festival. It opened this year’s festival in Pula and has already imposed itself as a potential hit, which has been declared as worthy successor of the film “What is a Man Without a Moustache”, directed by Hrvoje Hribar, the plot of which was also located on the rocky grounds of Dalmatian Zagora.
The protagonists of “Sonja and the Bull” are two coevals in late twenties, who can’t be more unlike than they are. There’s a story on TV about the bullfight which was condemned by the representatives of the animal protection association, and the activist Sonja (Judita Franjković) takes the initiative. The organizers of the fight and the owners of the bulls are shocked by this assault, and a bet is made that Sonja wouldn’t dare to come close to the bull for whose rights she works. Demanding assignment to bring her to the location goes to Ante (Goran Bogdan), son of the bullfight organizer…
The director Vlatka Vorkapić brings us great comedy through the love affair of the protagonists from the two irreconcilable worlds full of stereotypes, and it is completed by Dejan Aćimović, Ivo Gregurević, Elvis Bošnjak and Barbara Prpić.
“Sonja and the Bull” will have its B&H premiere with the screening in Borak cinema and the entire film crew will be present at the film promotion.
