The program “Shorts, coming back home” is a proof that a little place like ours can be nursery for the important branch of the film culture, the actor’s one. Three actors from the Academy of Dramatic Art from Zagreb who have standing engagement in Zagreb’s theatres come from Široki Brijeg, and these are: Vinko Kraljević, Goran Bogdan and Petar Leventić. Considering that these three have made a lot of short feature films in the past five years, as in the production of ADA, as well as in the production of HFS or private productions financed by HAVC, we’ve decided to make a selection of the best ten short feature films and show them in two projections at this year’s MFF. The reason for this is that these short films haven’t been in the TV programs, or could be bought anywhere. Their life is festival life, and a kind of short coming back home of the afore mentioned three. We’ve added to this “popular three” the films where Slaven Knezović has his performances, because we consider him to be from Široki Brijeg as well, no matter he has something against that or not. There are more actors from our “little place” in the region and the world, but they are more devoted to commercial programs so we don’t find them in short students’ forms and distinctive directors. I hope that you’ll enjoy the screenings and acting skills of these four men.
