This year at the Festival we shall present the retrospective of  Vlatko Filipović, Director from BiH. He was born on March 11th 1936 in the family of train dispatchers at a little railway station of the former railway route Dubrovnik – Sarajevo. The station was in Hutovo, presently a village in Neum Municipality. His father’s origins are from Ravno, the village of Turkovići, and mother’s from Čitluk – the village of Tepčići. He graduated the Grammar School in Dubrovnik,  and the College of Philosophy, Yugoslav Literature branch in Sarajevo.

Instead of the third generation of railway workers he became a film director. He made four feature films, but was more in documentaries. Won numerous awards home and abroad. At the 11th MFF we shall present six documentary films, in a program named “The Mediterranean Circle of Vlatko Filipović.
