At the short, relaxed and funny opening ceremony of the 10th MFF the cinema auditorium was full to the last seat. The director Tomislav Topić mentioned that this is the result of ten year old work in the festival and upbringing one new generation that is in love with the documentaries.

The mayor of Široki Broijeg thanked the organizers for turning Široki Brijeg into a film capital of Herzegovina, and thanks to MFF this Mediterranean town has become an important place at the film map of the world.

The opening ceremony was hosted by the famous Croatian television host Mirko Fodor and the festival’s screening announcer, who is a painter and English language teacher, Vladimir Mikulić Vava. After the film screenings that were finished at 22.30, the party was at the hotel Park at the centre of Široki Brijeg, with the band “Black Chicken Leg” and herzegovinian specialties until the early morning hours.
